Maoists kill former CPI-M activist
April 4th, 2011 - 5:24 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, April 4 (IANS) Maoists killed a former Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) activist in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district Monday, police said.
“Gagan Mahato was travelling when a gang of Maoists intercepted the vehicle and dragged him out. He was severely beaten up and later shot dead,” said West Midnapore Additional Police Superintendent (Operation) Mukesh Kumar.
“Following the diktat of the ultra left rebels, Gagan left the CPI-M a few years back,” Kumar added.
Police suspect members of the Jhargram Maoist squad to involved in the crime.
