Maoists kill CPI-M member in West Bengal
June 6th, 2010 - 5:14 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, June 6 (IANS) A Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) member was shot dead by suspected Maoists in West Bengal’s Bankura district, police said Sunday.
According to police, Nirmal Singh was shot dead Saturday. His body was recovered from Raipur area of Bankura early Sunday.
“We have recovered the body of Nirmal Singh. Investigation is on,” Superintendent of Police Vishal Garg said.
Maoists are active in West Bengal’s three western districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
