Maoists blast JMM MP’s house
May 11th, 2011 - 2:23 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, May 11 (IANS) Maoists have blown up Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP and former rebel leader Kameshwar Baitha’s ancestral house in Palamau district in Jharkhand, police said Wednesday.
The guerrillas blasted the house in Dhachabar village, around 160 km from Ranchi, late Tuesday with detonators.
No one was injured. Baitha, a former Maoist leader, was elected to the Lok Sabha from Palamau in 2009. He fought the election from jail.
After serving nearly two-and-a-half years in jail, Baitha was released on bail Saturday. He visited his ancestral house after his release and asked Maoists to shun violence. He also sought security from the government.
