Mamata meets Bengal governor after taking oath

Kolkata, May 20 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held an hour-long meeting with Governor M.K. Narayanan Friday after taking the oath of office and said she will hold weekly meetings with him.
“I had a meeting with the governor regarding development of the state. I will talk to him once a week. We will work for the people of the state,” Banerjee said on her way to the state Secretariat from Raj Bhavan.
Banerjee was Friday sworn in as West Bengal’s first woman chief minister.
More than 3,000 invited guests watched as a beaming Banerjee, clad in her trademark white sari and rubber slippers, was administered the oaths of office and secrecy by Narayanan at the Raj Bhavan here.
