Mamata advises Buddhadeb to change his spectacles

Kolkata, Nov 4 (IANS) Railways Minister and Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee has slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattcharjee for allegedly spreading “rumours” about lack of jobs in railways and advised him to change his spectacles.
“He is spreading rumours about the unavailability of jobs in the railways and popularity of trains which have been flagged off recently. The process of recruitment has already started. The recruitment board of the railways is looking into the matter,” Banerjee said in an interview to a private Bengali news channel Star Ananda Wednesday.
Banerjee took a dig at Bhattacharjee and advised him to change his spectacles if he cannot see the series of developments that the railways have ushered in the state.
“If he cannot see the developments that my railway department has ushered in the state, then I will advise him to change his spectacles,” Banerjee said.
“Already 1,67,000 jobs in railways are under process. And regarding trains, the Duronto Express train is very popular. His mind is totally convoluted. That is why he is unable to see the success of Duranto,” she added.
Banerjee’s comment came days after Bhattacharjee levelled criticism that the railway minister had failed to provide “a single job” in her department.
Earlier this year Bhattacharjee, while addressing media, had mocked Duronto Express and various other trains flagged off by Banerjee by saying: “One only sees such trains being launched. After that, all these trains vanish.”
