Maharashtra governor recovering from arterial surgery

Sankaranarayanan, who underwent an arterial surgery to remove a clot in his left artery, is making excellent progress and has been shifted out of the recovery room, an official said here Thursday.
“According to Dr B.K. Goyal, honorary dean and chief cardiologist of Bombay Hospital, the governor is likely to be discharged in two or three days,” a Raj Bhavan official said.
Sankaranarayanan was admitted to Bombay Hospital Tuesday following a spell of giddiness. After detailed investigation, a clot with narrowing was discovered in his left carotid artery, which was corrected by an arterial surgery.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Chief Minister of Goa Digambar Kamat, Minister for Public Works and Tourism Chhagan Bhujbal and Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee president Kripa Shankar Singh visited the hospital on Wednesday to meet the governor.
