“Currently, the demand for power in the state is around 17,000 MW, while the supply is around 13,500 MW. We plan to add another 5,000 MW by 2013-15,” Chavan informed the state legislative assembly.

While the state is expected to be free of load-shedding, the government is initiating several measures to increase power supply and cater to future energy requirements of the state, the chief minister said.
