Jamuna Devi’s security guard Rajbahadur Singh, driver Hem Singh and her personal assistant Usha, all whom were travelling with her in the car, were admitted to the Hamidia hospital in Bhopal.
Party leaders including state Congress in-charge Narain Sami, former chief minister Digvijay Singh and state unit president Suresh Pachouri reached the Bombay hospital.
Pachouri said the state government should institute an inquiry into the accident.
“Jamuna Devi has in the past written to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan demanding that her security be increased. But the administration did not even bother to provide a follow guard,” he said.
Congress spokesman Manak Agrawal said Jamuna Devi in her letter dated June 23, had written to the chief minister that there had been several attempts “to hit her car” on the way to Dhar from Bhopal.
