Madhya Pradesh minister booked for violating poll code
March 10th, 2009 - 8:32 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, March 10 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Cooperatives Minister Gauri Shankar Bisen has been booked for alleged violation of the model code of conduct.
The minister had allegedly distributed watches to journalists and party workers at a programme in Seoni district last week.
The incident had been reported in the local media and a complaint was made to the state’s Chief Electoral Officer J.S. Mathur by the Seoni district collector Manohar Dubey.
“A case has been registered against the minister on the directives of the Election Commission,” Dubey told IANS over phone.
