Lok Sabha adjourned for fourth time (Lead)
March 8th, 2010 - 4:54 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 8 (IANS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MPs, led by Sharad Yadav, joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to protest the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha forcing the adjournment of the house till 4 p.m.
Soon after the house assembled at 3 p.m., SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav and RJD president Lalu Prasad and their MPs walked up to the speaker’s podium shouting slogans. JD-U MPs led by Sharad Yadav joined them.
Francisco Sardinha, who was in the chair, tried to pacify the MPs but failed.
The Lok Sabha has been adjourned four times Monday over the government’s move to introduce the bill in the Rajya Sabha to provide 33 percent reservation for women in all legislatures.
