Lok Dal practising politics of regionalism: Hooda
April 4th, 2010 - 8:56 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, April 4 (IANS) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Sunday criticised the opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for indulging in politics of regionalism.
“INLD leaders are aware of the fact that their political base has been eroded in the state, therefore they are carrying out distasteful politics. They never did it earlier… their attempts to raise regional issues show that they have become anxious and frantic,” Hooda told reporters here.
Charging the Congress-led Haryana government with ignoring Sirsa, the home district of INLD chief and former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, INLD had called for a shutdown in Sirsa Saturday to protest the visit of Hooda, who had gone there to launch various development projects.
At various places, INLD workers even forced the traders to shut their shops.
Hooda said that against Rs.852.18 crore spent by the INLD on development of Sirsa during its six years rule, the Congress government has spent Rs.1,470 crore in four-and-a-half years.
“We believe in the all round development of the state,” Hooda said, terming the INLD’s charges as “misinformation” and “ridiculous”.
