Live recording of polling during Tamil Nadu by-elections
December 16th, 2009 - 9:04 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Dec 16 (IANS) The Election Commission will record live the happenings inside the polling booths during Dec 19 bypolls for the two assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, a senior election official said Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters here, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said: “The live recording through webcam will help to see whether the voter identity cards were verified by the officials at the polling booth and the voters are allowed to vote after that.”
He said five companies of the police force from Karnataka and six companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will be deployed for providing security for polling in Vandavasi and Tiruchendur constituencies.
