Alaska, Nov 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States Senator Lisa Murkowski’s spokesman has revealed that the Senator intends to join the Republicans when she is reelected. The Senator is seeking reelection in Alaska and the announcement caused a heated debate amongst her followers on Sunday. Her spokesman, Steve Wackowski revealed to The Associated Press on Sunday that Lisa has been a Republican all her life and she intends to caucus with them if she gets reelected.

All along, Lisa has made it clear that she intends to represent the interest of the people of Alaska and not any political organization. The recent announcement however is a sharp U-turn from that earlier stand. The argument about Lisa’s commitment in the Senate however reached fever pitch high when Lisa appeared on CNN and seemingly contradicted the spokesperson’s earlier statement. On CNN on Sunday, Lisa revealed that she would represent the interest of the people of Alaska and not that of the GOP.

Lisa is in the fight of her life to retain her seat. Her seat is hotly contested by Democrat, Scott McAdams and another GOP candidate Joe Miller. Americans will head to the polls tomorrow in an election that is seen as a test of Barack Obama’s popularity.
