joeAnchorage, Oct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In what is being perceived as a major boost to Alaska Senator and write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski, the Alaska Supreme Court has taken the decision that election workers would be able to provide voters with the list of write-in candidates only when the list is needed to fulfill specific needs of the voters. The decision of the Supreme Court in Alaska comes just few days prior to the much-anticipated Election Day which would decide the fate of Alaska’s Senate race.

Earlier this week, a state Superior Court judge gave the ruling that the candidates should be stopped from providing the list to the voters, however, the ban has been lifted by the Supreme Court pending decision. In the meanwhile, on Thursday thousands of Alaskan turned up at the election office in Anchorage to register their names as the write-in candidate for the Senate race reportedly with the hope that the large number of names in the list would create confusion in the mind of the Lisa Murkowski’s supporters in the polling booths. According to reports, as of now, the total number of candidates whose names has been registered stand somewhere around 150 while many others had to be rejected due to late entry as well as age requirements.

In the meanwhile, a latest poll survey that was conducted earlier this week pointed out that write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski is leading in comparison to the other candidates. According to the poll survey figures, Lisa Murkowski got 37 per cent of the votes while Republican Joe Miller received 27 percent of the votes.
