Left parties ready to face polls: BardhanMarch 3rd, 2008 - 12:21 am ICT by admin
Thrissur (Kerala), March 2 (IANS) Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary A.B. Bardhan Sunday said his party did not favour advancement of parliamentary elections but if the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government decided to conduct the polls early, the Left parties were prepared for it. Bardhan, who was here to attend the state conference of the CPI, was addressing a press meet.
Responding to the allegations of corruption against CPI ministers in Kerala, Bardhan said these allegations would not stand the test of judicial or any public scrutiny.
He also said the CPI and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) - the main constituents of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala - should improve the coordination and understanding between the two parties.
