Left Front to register protest against post-poll violence

Kolkata, May 27 (IANS) West Bengal’s Left Front chairman Biman Bose Friday said a delegation will submit a memorandum to the Mamata Banerjee government June 3 on the spiralling incidents of post-poll violence. A protest rally against the violence will be also be held May 31.
“A Left Front delegation will submit a memorandum to the state government on June 3 regarding various incidents of violence in the state. We have lost 10 people who were either CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) members or were close to the party,” Bose told media persons here.
Bose later said the LF will send an official letter to the state government and seek the appointment for the meeting.
He also said that the Left Front will stage a protest rally against the increasing incidents of post-poll violence and price rise of essentials.
“We will stage a protest rally against post poll violence and price rise of essentials at the Rani Rashmoni Road on May 31. We have also asked other district Left leaders to organise such rallies in their districts if possible,” said Bose.
He said former minister Surya Kanta Mishra will be the leader of opposition in the state assembly and Subhas Naskar will be deputy leader of opposition.
