Leaders reach village to condole death of Badal’s wife

Badal (Punjab), June 1 (IANS) Several senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress and the Akali Dal Wednesday reached Badal village, in Muktsar district of Punjab, to condole the death of Surinder Kaur Badal, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, party’s senior leader Arun Jaitley, party MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Congress MPs Manish Tiwari and Ravneet Singh Bittu and various cabinet ministers of the Punjab government came here to mourn the death of Surinder Kaur Badal.
Due to bad weather, the venue for the antim ardas ritual of Surinder Kaur Badal was shifted from village Badal to Navi Anaj Mandi near Malout town.
She died died in a Chandigarh hospital May 24 after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 72.
