LDF happy with Achuthanandan government
November 16th, 2009 - 10:01 pm ICT by IANSThiruvananthapuram, Nov 16 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan’s government got a pat on the back with the liaison committee meeting of the Left Democratic Front (LDF), which said it was doing a good job.
The liaison committee of the LDF is the highest decision making body of the Achuthanandan government and consists of top leaders of the coalition’s allies.
Addressing reporters here after the meeting, LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan said the Achuthanandan government was performing well.
“So the question of a change of a head of the government or a cabinet re-shuffle does not arise. Can you tell which other government like the present one has done so much for the people,” said Viswan.
He said the LDF committee, which met Monday, has begun a discussion on the modus operandi of going ahead with the implementation of the LDF manifesto.
“We will meet again Dec 7th and 8th,” said Viswan.
In the recent by-election to three constituencies, the Congress romped home by convincing margins and the LDF major Communist Party of India -Marxist (CPI-M) drew a blank.
