Law will take its course on Reddy brothers: Congress
September 5th, 2011 - 3:55 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 5 (IANS) Reacting to the arrest of former Karnataka minister G. Janardhana Reddy, the Congress Monday said the law will take its own course and the mining baron’s arrest will be a lesson for everyone.
“Whoever is involved, whichever the party or status he belongs to and whichever authority he occupies, law will take its course,” Union Corporate Affairs Minister M. Veerappa Moily told reporters outside parliament.
“This is a lesson for everyone who occupies office as a minister or an officer that they should not misuse the office,” he said.
Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law B. Srinivasa Reddy were early Monday arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an illegal mining case.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said: “Law is taking its own course… the government does not interfere in the functioning of the CBI. CBI is investigating the matter. I think we should have faith in the law.”
