Krishna, Chidambaram not on same page on Pakistan: BJP

New Delhi, July 22 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday charged Home Minister P. Chidambaram and External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna with “not being on the same page” on the government’s policy towards Pakistan.
The party also hit out at Krishna for ticking off Home Secretary G.K.Pillai, saying he had only stated the facts in his remarks about the involvement of Pakistan’s ISI spy agency in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
“We would like to know from the government what is its policy? The home minister and external affairs minister are not on the same page,” BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here.
Krishna, in a television interview Wednesday, said that Pillai’s statement on the involvement of the ISI in the 26/11 attack could have waited till after his July 15 talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad.
Referring to Krishna’s remark, Prasad said it has tainted the country’s image on issues of national security.
He said Qureshi “must be smiling over the remarks”.
