Karunanidhi denies getting letter from Ratan Tata
February 13th, 2011 - 11:40 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Feb 13 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M. Karunanidhi Sunday denied receiving a letter from industrialist Ratan Tata, delivered by corporate lobbyist Niira Radia in 2007.Responding to the charge of AIADMK chief J.Jayalalithaa that Radia had hand-delivered a letter to him, Karunanidhi, in a statement issued here, said: “I have not received any such letter. Nobody handed over to me such a letter to me.”
Taking a dig at Jayalalithaa, he said DMK’s newspaper Murasoli had published the letters written by her as well as those who had written to her.
He said Murasoli would again publish her letter written to then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi stating that M.G.Ramachandran - who brought her into politics - is unfit to be the chief minister and that she be made the chief minister.
Jayalalithaa ,in a statement Saturday, had said that Tata had written a letter to Karunanidhi on Nov 13, 2007 praising then Communications Minister A.Raja. She said the letter was hand delivered by Radia.
