Chennai, April 27 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief M. Karunanidhi began a hunger strike here Monday, demanding an immediate ceasefire in Sri Lanka, party sources said.
Karunanidhi is sitting in protest at the memorial of the DMK founder C.N. Annadurai.
“The chief minister has not informed anyone how long the protest would last,” a party source said.
The chief minister’s daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and former union minister Dayanidhi Maran were among those who visited the DMK chief at the site.
