Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 14 (IANS) Veteran leader and former Kerala chief minister K. Karunakaran, admitted to a hospital here Thursday after complaining of breathlessness and fever, is eager to watch the forthcoming India-Sri Lanka cricket match, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor said Saturday.
“I had gone to meet Karunakaran who is right now in intensive care and he told me that he is eager to get out of the room because there is no TV. He said the test match is beginning day after and by that time, he is certain that he will move into a room which would have TV. Like me, he also is mad about cricket,” said Tharoor at a function here.
According to the doctors treating the ailing leader, his condition has improved greatly and Saturday he had breakfast brought from his home and was also able to sit up.
Since Thursday, the hospital where Karunakaran has been admitted has been swamped by his supporters and leaders from various political parties have called on him to wish him a speedy recovery.
