Apr 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Karl Rove, who is still best remembered as the right hand of former US president George W. Bush has surprised many by making an appearance in an advertisement meant for public service. He is seen asking people of the nation to fill and mail the census forms for 2010. He has made a reference to James Madison, the main author of the constitution of the USA and its fourth president. The ad went on air on Monday. Karl Rove urges the residents to fill up the census form that has 10 questions. He now works at Fox News as an analyst.
To make an appeal to the minority residents, Dorothy Height, the veteran civil rights icon has been roped in for another census ad. With their stints in the ads, Karl Rove and Dorothy Height join the bandwagon of celebrities who are encouraging the residents to send their census forms. Others who are asking the residents to mail the census form are President Barack Obama, singer Donny Osmond, Caressa Cameron and baseball players etc. The residents can mail back the forms till mid April. So far, 60 percent residents have sent their forms as the census bureau has reported.
It is quite surprising to see the sympathizers of the republicans urging the residents to submit the census forms now. The ad is available on YouTube now. The Obama administration is gearing up to sending Census Bureau representatives on door-to-door rounds. However, the ad featuring Karl Rove is a blow to the efforts of right wing sites that are equating census as a weapon of totalitarianism and communism.
