Karat, Yechury to leave for Kolkata Thursday

New Delhi, Jan 6 (IANS) Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) general secretary Prakash Karat and his party colleague, politburo member Sitaram Yechury, will leave for Kolkata Thursday morning in view of deteriorating health of senior party leader Jyoti Basu, said party sources here.
Party politburo member Brinda Karat, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, has already left for Kolkata, sources told IANS.
Basu, 95, was hospitalised last week after a pneumonia attack. He was in critical condition and on ventilator Wednesday, doctors said.
