Kantilal Bhuria new chief of Congress in Madhya Pradesh
April 7th, 2011 - 12:47 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 6 (IANS) The Congress Wednesday appointed union Tribal Affairs Minister Kantilal Bhuria as its party unit chief in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhuria, a tribal leader from Jhabua district, replaces former minister of state for parliamentary affairs Suresh Pachouri as the state unit chief.
Congress has been out of power in Madhya Pradesh since 2003. Party sources said that the leadership is keen to revive the party’s traditional support base among tribals, Dalits and upper castes and other backward sections.
