After the news of the official confirmation of the sad and untimely death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. R. Reddy today, September 3, Union Minister P Chidambaram has revealed that the state’s Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah will step in the late CM’s shoes, as the acting Chief Minister.
Today morning, the wrecks of the helicopter in which the Minister and his colleagues were traveling on an official tour to a rural district was discovered by the Indian Air Force. Within times of the discovery, it was revealed that the southern heavyweight politician was killed in the crash, along with his companions.
K Rosaiah will act as the Chief Minister of the Indian state, till a new leader is elected by the Congress legislature party, to occupy office. The party is also stated to work upon a strategy in order to deal with the present crisis situation that has risen with the sudden demise of Y. S. R. Reddy. In the order of the hierarchy, the finance minister ranks as the number second, just next in line to the late CM in the state cabinet. At 77, he is the senior most member.
Already a silent campaign for turning YSR’s son in to the next CM is said to be underway. The supposed move already is said to have drawn a lot of criticism from various ranks.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Bhavan remains shrouded in a cloak of gloom as they await the arrival of the Minister’s body. The Congress Working Committee is scheduled to meet later today to discuss all matters.
