Jyoti Basu has mild fever, still critical

Kolkata, Jan 12 (IANS) Communist patriarch Jyoti Basu, battling pneumonia in a city hospital, had mild fever and continued to be in a critical condition Tuesday, a medical bulletin said.
Basu, 95, would be given one unit of blood to improve his haemoglobin count.
The eight-member medical board treating the former West Bengal chief minister has also decided to do a CT scan to get a clearer picture of his general condition, said an AMRI hospital medical bulletin.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) veteran is on ventilator support. He was hospitalised Jan 1.
