jonOct 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Looks like Comedy Central show host Jon Stewart has a much bigger fan following that most people assumed as the Rally to Restore Sanity has been a huge success in terms of crowd. The CBS network counted the crowd that gathered near the Capitol Mall in Washington DC and the figure was a whopping 215,000. In spite of the fact that many were oblivious of the fact that Ozzy Osbourne and Yusuf Islam would be performing at the rally, the crowd proves that the idea sold.

The rally seems to have outdone the Glenn Beck Rally with more than a 2:1 ratio and Jon Stewart is sure to be a happy man when he returns to the studio to announce it on his fake news show. Adding to the humor was Stephen Colbert who led the pro-fear part of the rally and at one point introduced Ozzy Osbourne on stage to counter the pro-sanity singer Yusuf Islam. The people at the mall were taken aback by the huge crowds and eventually had to give up on the shopping. The bars and the restaurants in the area also got filled up quickly and many of the people revealed in interviews that such a crowd was unexpected.

It looked like the crowds too were in with the Comedy Central spirit and there were some hilarious banners held up as well. One hilarious sign read that tea parties are for little girls. Jon Stewart looked overwhelmed by the crowd at one point and said that 10 million people have been gathered. He also promised to count them one by one.
