John Boehner Gets Congratulatory Call From President Barack Obama

Nov 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) John Boehner the GOP Rep of Ohio is a happy man these days. He is going to be the Speaker of the House in near future after Nancy Pelosi paves the way out. The congratulatory call from none other than Barack Obama, the President of USA was the icing on the cake for him! The mid term election results came as a stunning blow for the ruling democrats since they lost majority on the House even though emerged the winner in the Senate. Apart from John Boehner the president had also called two House Democrats- Steny Hoyer, outgoing Majority Leader and Nancy Pelosi the outgoing Speaker.
The US president told Mitch McConnell and John Boehner that he was expecting that the Democrats and GOP would “find common ground, move the country forward and get things done for the American people”. John Boehner’s team said that he had a small but heartening conversation with president Barack Obama. They added that “They discussed working together to focus on the top priorities of the American people, which Boehner has identified as creating jobs and cutting spending”. The next speaker of the House told victory rally earlier that the people of USA have given their verdict and the Democrats should respect their choice.
It needs to be noted in this context that prior to the midterm elections President Barack Obama criticized John Boehner saying that the time is not meant for compromise even if the GOP gets the majority in the House. The next speaker also said he wants to work with Barack Obama for the advancement of the country without compromising basic GOP principles.
