New York, Sep 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The United States Senate’s Minority Leader John Boehner ignored a question by a liberal blogger on his alleged affair with a lobbyist.

Boehner cannot be dodging that particular question forever because analysts say the issue will be a major campaign issue in the upcoming midterm elections. The issue is supposed to be New York Times expose in the upcoming days and insiders on Capitol Hill says the expose will detail the alleged affair.

The sources say the Times is seeking to drop the allegations in October to greatly disturb Boehner’s bid for reelection.

The Times dropped a similar story during the run-up to the 2008 United States presidential elections against the then Republican Candidate, John McCain. However the woman mentioned by the Times flatly denied the allegations.

The blogger, Mike Stark stopped Boehner after the unveiling of his highly publicized “Pledge to America” and asked him about the allegations. Boehner did not utter a comment to the question. Stark again contacted the lady in question, Lisbeth Lyons, the lobbyist for the American Printing American, but she also refused to comment though she later flatly denied the allegation in an interview with the New York Post.

Spokesman for Boehner has blamed the Democrats for the allegations calling it as “outright lies”.
