boccieri_370x2782Ohio, Mar 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ohio Congressman John Boccieri finally relented to party pressure and gave his approval for the much discussed Healthcare reform bill that has created sensation among the US politicians. He was among the few members of the Democratic Party who were holding their grounds against the proponents of the bill. A few days back, President Barack Obama managed to persuade another opponent democrat Dennis Kucinich and John Boccieri also relented to the mounting pressure to vote for the bill at last. This is likely to make the task of speaker Nancy Pelosi, easier. She has to get 216 supporters for the bill to get passed smoothly.

John Boccieri also admitted that the proposed bill is not perfect. However, he added that it is better to have the bill implemented than opposing it which will result in no improvement on the current healthcare scenario. For him, it was a tough choice as he faced pressure from both the proponents and the opponents of the bill. He said in his statement to the media that he is not much bothered about the effect of changing his stance on the elections. The bill will be set for a vote on Sunday and prior to that, the Democrats have to find the required number of supporters.

The bill will put new rules on the existing insurance companies operating in the USA. It will provide insurance cover to at least 32 million uninsured residents of US, as it has been reported. From 2014, the Americans will face penalties if they do not buy insurance. It will also affect large businesses.
