Ohio, May 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Samuel Wurzelbacher who rose to fame two years back during the presidential campaign of the Republican candidate John McCain has bagged a GOP seat in Ohio. John McCain referred to him as Joe the Plumber and he became well known after that. He is now an elected official for the GOP. During his campaign two years back John McCain held up Samuel Wurzelbacher as a prototype of the blue collar workers he promised to support as president. However, the Ohio resident criticized him later saying he just wanted to use him.
Even after the presidential election was over he managed to stay in the news. He wrote a book and worked as a war correspondent as well. He also met US President Barack Obama at the time he was campaigning as democrat candidate. He had some talk with Barack Obama regarding how his tax policy will affect the owners of small businesses as he wanted to start a business. He expressed his conservative views while talking in sensitive issues like immigration and acceptance and legalization of homosexuality.
In fact he talked in a rather offensive manner on homosexuals and said that he would keep his kids away from them. He nevertheless got elected in the Lucas County committee. He does not have much political ambition as is evident from his book. In his book he has criticized both the GOP and Democrat presidential candidates and explained why he does not support either of them. His election to the committee has brought him in the limelight once more and the news is also out in the internet.
