joeOhio, May 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Samuel Wurzelbacher, better known as “Joe the Plumber”, has been elected as a member of the central committee of the Republican Party in his native state Ohio. He is one of the 39 members who have been elected to the committee this year. After the elections were over, “Joe the Plumber” reportedly issued a statement saying that his main aim now is to remove all the liars, the frauds, the thieves and the cheats who occupy the government posts.

According to the unofficial tally that was released after the elections took place on Wednesday, “Joe the Plumber” won by a margin of 38-23 against his opponent. His first brush with fame had been the debate with ex-Ohio candidate Barack Obama when the Presidential elections were still on back in 2008. By questioning the tax plans of Barack Obama and asking how the same would benefit the small businesses that is so rampant in America, “Joe the Plumber” earned quite a name for himself as the representative of the common working people in America. Since then “Joe the Plumber” has been a regular face in the rallies of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

While “Joe the Plumber” is busy preparing to brace himself in the new position as the elected member of the central committee in the Lucas county of Ohio, a successful member from his opposition party has quit from his position. House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey came up with a statement on Wednesday itself that he would no more contest in any more elections, bringing to a halt a bright 41-year-old career that was marked by his talent throughout.
