joeDec. 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Connecticut Independent Senator Joe Lieberman has been on the hit list of the critics for ever, owing to his very vocal and vehement opposition of the health care reform bill. His demands are somewhat in this strain: that the government scrap the reform that was being proposed to be introduced in the health care bill, which implies that the people be allowed to invest in Medicare at the age of 55. He also strongly opposed the state’s new health insurance plan and the public option scheme.

In fact, earlier, it has been revealed, Joe Lieberman was a staunch supporter of the Medicare Bill. A video was circulated by the Democrats on Monday that showed the Independent Senator voicing his support for the Medicare bill. In an earlier interview, he had commented that he supported the health care reform bill as he felt it was necessary for the older, uninsured group of citizens. At that point of time, he had been focusing on the 50-55 age group, or above.

After the circulation of the previous video, the Senator was asked about it. He commented that at that point of time, he had felt that the bill was necessary, but after the passing of the health care bill by the Senate, the necessity of the health care reform bill became doubtful, as the Senate bill had already finalized the subsidies for health insurance. He also mentioned that he would definitely like to have a health care reform bill, but he feels that it would be much better if the bill includes his plans, they would be able to provide health insurance to a larger number of people.
