Jimmy McMillan Steals Show For Independent Party
October 21st, 2010 - 2:25 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The governor’s debate which was held this week was planned to be a clash between the two major party candidates for governor, Democrat Andrew Cuomo and Republican Carl Paladino. However, many independent party candidates were there as well and some of them were reported to have stolen the show.
Among the most memorable moments was when a former prostitute madam made jokes about gay bars and brothels, and the Republican candidate Paladino shocked the crowd by walking off stage in the middle of the show to use the restroom. His campaign manager stated to the ‘New York Times’, “When you gotta go, you gotta go.”
But the biggest moment of the night seemed to be when Jimmy McMillan of the ‘Rent is Too Damn High’ party took the stage. He spoke a great deal on the high cost of rent, which is said to be the party’s only cause.
