jimmy-carter Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former US President Jimmy Carter slammed late Ted Kennedy on the health care issue in an interview with ’60 Minutes’. He was being interviewed on the show by Lesley Stahl.

The controversial interview is yet to be aired, and according to sources, it would be aired on the 19th of September at 7 pm ET.

In the interview he said that the country would have had comprehensive health care by now, but instead sadly this is not the case, and in his opinion the fault lies solely on Ted Kennedy. In the candid interview, Jimmy Carter says that Ted killed the bill totally. Jimmy also added that if his proposal had gone through, then it would have been a major success milestone in his life, but apparently Ted wasn’t very comfortable with that, and he knowingly blocked the bill.

About Reagan he said that, “[Reagan] wanted to show that America was a great nation. So great that we didn’t have to limit the enjoyment of life. That’s right, America responded to that quite well.”

Apart from that, Jimmy Carter also kept a diary during his Presidency days and he has now published it in the form of a book – ‘White House Diary’.
