Jharkhand to launch Operation Green Hunt: Soren
March 8th, 2010 - 5:09 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ranchi, March 8 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren Monday said his government will launch the inter-state Operation Green Hunt against Maoist guerrillas.
“We will have to launch the joint offensive against the Maoists. My government is of the view that providing security and maintaining law and order is the duty of the government. We condemn the Maoist violence in any form,” Soren said in the state assembly.
Pradeep Yadav of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajantantik (JVM-P) sought the government’s stand over Green Hunt amid reports that Jharkhand was not keen to take part in the operation.
Soren made it clear that Jharkhand too would also launch the operation.
