JD-S to invite BJD for Bangalore rallyMarch 9th, 2009 - 7:22 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) The Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) will invite Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to attend the election rally being organised in Tumkur, near Bangalore March 12, said a party spokesman here Monday.
“We are going to invite him (Patnaik), as he is expected to be part of the non-Congress, non-BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) alliance,” JD-S spokesman Danish Ali told IANS.
The decade old alliance between the BJP and the BJD ended Saturday night after talks between both parties over seat sharing failed.
Ali said leaders of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), the CPI, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the AIADMK have assured that they would attend the rally.
He, however, said a structural form for the proposed third front would not be given in the rally.
“It is a rally of like-minded parties. It is a rally of future formation (of the third front). But a structural form for the future formation would not be given in the rally,” Ali said.
