Jayalalithaa reshuffles bureaucracy, transfers 42 officials
May 20th, 2011 - 4:04 pm ICT by IANSChennai, May 20 (IANS) Tamil Nadu’s newly-elected government headed by J. Jayalalithaa Friday transferred 42 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officials in a major reshuffle of the state’s bureaucracy.
The government also created a new but temporary post - additional chief secretary - in the chief secretary rank.
The government also transferred several principal secretaries heading various departments.
Included in the transfer list are the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) Chandra Prakash Singh; Rajeev Ranjan, principal secretary, industries department; T.S. Sridhar, commissioner of archaeology and museums and M. Kutralingam, principal secretary, micro, small and medium enterprises department.
