Jayalalithaa condoles legislator’s death
April 1st, 2012 - 11:57 pm ICT by IANSChennai, April 1 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Sunday condoled the death of Communist Party of India legislator S.P. Muthukumaran, representing Pudukottai constituency, in a road accident.
Muthukumaran, 43, died when the car in which he was travelling overturned after a tyre burst near Pudukottai, around 345 km from here.
The chief minister said in her message that “Muthukumaran, prior to his election to the assembly, had earned the respect of people as a member of the Thiruvankulam Panchayat Union”.
CPI state secretary D. Pandian said: “The party conveys its condolence to the wife, son and daughter of Muthukumaran.”
