New York, Aug 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Kristin Davis, the former ‘madam’ who gave Elliot Splitzer his supply of prostitutes when he was in office as both the Attorney General and New York State Governor has secured 22,000 signatures of qualified voters to give her a chance to run as an independent candidate for the Governor of New York elections. She has therefore secured her place on the election ballot papers.

Davis said her motivation for entering into the governorship race is to give New Yorkers personal and economic liberation. She’s already served jail time in Riker’s Island after she was convicted for pleading guilty to a count of promoting prostitution.

She says she wants to legalize marijuana and gay marriage. The aspiring governor also aims to raise income from the legalization of gambling in casinos and reduce the tax levels of ordinary residents of the state.

“I am running on a platform of personal and economic freedom. I want to end the prohibition on marijuana, gay marriage and casino gambling to generate new revenues instead of raising taxes on already over-taxed New Yorkers,” according to Davis.

Davis is already a women’s and gay rights advocate. She also took at both the Republicans and Democrats saying they had ruined the state after many years of governorship. She said a new face and set of ideas is needed by the Empire State.
