Is Hillary Clinton a contender for the Supreme Court?

Hillary Clinton Washington DC, Apr 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the retirement of Justice John Paul Stevens from the Supreme Court, there are rumors floating that Hillary Clinton might be interested in the vacancy. Even Senator Orrin Hatch said that he had heard that the former First Lady’s name being mentioned in connection with the vacancy.

Senator Hatch was speaking on NBC’s ‘Today’ show and he simply said that, “I heard Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s name today and that would be an interesting person in the mix.” He refused to elaborate more on the issue, and also refused to divulge whether he would support her or not. However he did acknowledge that he likes her. He said that, “I happen to like Hillary Clinton, I think she’s done a good job for the Democrats — Secretary of State’s position. If the president picks somebody who is clearly qualified, there is no question we can get that person through in a relatively short period of time. On the other hand, if he picks an activist judge… we ought to do everything in our power to defeat that person.”

According to reports, the other nominees in the fray are Federal Appellate Judge Diane Wood, Solicitor General Elena Kagan and Federal Judge Merrick Garland.
