Islamabad, Dec 23 (Xinhua) Interpol chief Ronald Noble Tuesday arrived in Islamabad for talks over Indian allegations of involvement of Pakistan-based militant groups in the Mumbai terror attacks.Interpol secretary general Ronald Noble met Pakistan’s Interior Advisor Rehman Malik Tuesday. He will also meet other officials to discuss the issue, the News Network International (NNI) news agency reported.
The Interpol might ask Pakistan to hand over the Mumbai terror suspects to the international police agency if Islamabad was not willing to hand them over to India, the report said.
India has said that Ajmal Kasab, who was arrested for the Mumbai attacks, belonged to Okara district in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
The Interpol team had earlier visited India and “promised help in securing the details of the 10 gunmen who attacked several places in Mumbai Nov 26 leaving at least 273 people dead and more than 300 others injured.
