India’s told China Arunachal integral part of country: PranabMarch 3rd, 2008 - 2:45 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, March 3 (IANS) China was informed that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told the Lok Sabha Monday. “The fact that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India has been clearly conveyed to the Chinese side by the government of India,” Mukherjee told the Lower House of Parliament.
The northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, which borders China, has led to problems between the two countries with China laying claim over it.
Chinese encroachment on parts of Arunachal Pradesh from time to time in the past has been in the news.
Mukherjee had told a news channel on the eve of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to China in January that Chinese encroachments into Arunachal Pradesh did take place.
India has taken up the issue with the Chinese government in the past too with mixed results.
