India may export nuclear reactors to Kazakhstan: PMO

New Delhi, Aug 24 (IANS) The government is in discussion with Kazakhstan for export of nuclear reactors, the Lok Sabha was informed Wednesday.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) V. Narayanasamy informed parliament that the government proposes to export nuclear reactors.

“Preliminary discussions in this regard are in progress with Kazakhstan. The details of foreign exchange likely to be earned will be known only if proposals in this regard take final shape,” he said.

He said future requirements of these reactors can be met indigenously from Indian industries both in the public and private sector.
