Washington, Nov 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States President Barack Obama is all set to commence a four nation Asian tour this weekend with the aim of giving an impetus to the diplomatic relationship of the nation with the Asian countries. The first halt in the four nation trip of President Barack Obama would be India where the United States President is scheduled to arrive on Saturday. President Barack Obama’s visit to Asian countries comes on the heels of a major setback that the Democratic party suffered during Tuesday’s mid-term polls which was swept by the Republicans.
However, earlier this week White House officials have reiterated that irrespective of the results of Tuesday’s mid-term elections, during his India visit, President Barack Obama would concentrate on enhancing the exports opportunities of United States as well as facilitating job creations at home. At the same time, experts have also pointed out that President Barack Obama’s trip to India is likely to be a major step in providing a boost to the US-India partnership while acknowledging India as an emerging global power. Moreover, it is also likely to give recognition to the transforming Asian strategic landscape which requires a strong partnership between India and the United States to maintain stability and prosperity in the region.
President Barack Obama is known to have described India as one of the very few global partners that United States has presently. Meanwhile, in an interview to a leading Indian news agency, the United States president has indicated that he would take strong steps on issues such limited exports of sensitive technology as well as outsourcing.
