Sarah Palin Anchorage, Jun 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin would soon be forced to pay $390,000 to her donors, as one of her defense funds has been declared ‘illegal’.

Palin’s supporters had set up the ‘Alaska Fund Trust’ in April 2009, so that her fans could contribute, so that Sarah Palin could fight the lawsuits that had been filed against her when she was the Governor of Alaska. The ‘Alaska Fund Trust’ was promoted and displayed prominently on her official website and it was also said to be an ‘official’ trust fund. People and donors thought that the ‘Alaska Fund Trust’ was approved by the local government, however in reality that was not the case.

State personnel board investigator Timothy Petumenos said in a press conference that, “It is the responsibility of every public official to make sure they are personally compliant with the (Alaska Ethics) Act.” He also added that it wasn’t right on Sarah Palin’s part to collect money to pay her lawyers, who were fighting lawsuits on her behalf.

As she was the governor at that time, so she would be required to return the money collected as donations during that time frame. However the $33,546 that was collected after she resigned as the governor, is all hers.
