New Delhi, Aug 26 (IBNS) After senior leader Amar Singh, it’s time for Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to ‘welcome’ expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaswant Singh to join his party.

“I like him (Jaswant Singh)…he may join SP if he wants…it’s entirely up to him to take this decision…but he is always welcome in our party,” Yadav told reporters on Wednesday.

“I share a good relationship with Jaswant Singh though he is in the BJP. He is not a fundamentalist. He is a good leader with a good heart. He has the qualities of a good leader. It’s sad that he was sacked so unceremoniously,” said Yadav.

On Tuesday, Amar Singh said that he has invited Jaswant to join the Samajwadi Party.

“I find the SP was closer to Jaswant Singh than the BJP closer on the ideology on Jinnah. I am too small to offer him to join SP but I told him that if he wants to continue to do something on political front, he can do so from Samajwadi platform. I see lot of similarity of thought and ethos of Jaswant Singh and me,” said Singh.

Jaswant Singh was expelled from the BJP on Aug 19 for praising MA Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, in his book titled Jinnah: India, Partition, Independence.
