Howard Dean terms Fox News coverage of the Shirley Sherrod case as ‘racist’

DNC Chairman Dr. Howard Dean New York, July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The ex governor of Vermont - Howard Dean has taken a direct swipe at Fox News for how the organization reacted in the Shirley Sherrod racism affair. He even went to the extent of calling how the story was covered was “absolutely racist”

The former governor who was also the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee was invited to appear on the “Fox News Sunday”. And there he made honest remarks about how the affair was handled saying that the cable company shielded Shirley Sherrod in the controversial story.

The former governor blasted the news corporation for acting in a racist way and also said the company had always supported racism by black people and cited the period when President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor to the US Supreme Court.

He said in a very candid way that, “Fox News did something that was absolutely racist. They had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip. They had been pushing a theme of black racism with this phony Black Panther crap and this business and this Sotomayor and all this other stuff.”
